Puberty is a word that describes all the different changes that happen in the body when boys and girls are growing up.
Puberty usually starts between ages 8-11 and continues for a few years. But it’s different for each boy and girl, and everyone’s body has its own schedule!
The stages of puberty in girls begin with internal hormonal changes that you can’t see. Then the stages include development of breasts, pubic hair growth, body odors, a growth spurt, and the first period. The hormones might also affect mood and emotions.
All of these changes are normal, but sometimes they can feel confusing!
